Neighborhood Sushi
High-quality sushi in a “neighborhood” setting with incredible service. The menu balances traditional sushi and raw dishes with hot, kitchen items. Their tempura is some of the best I have ever had. Seating options include a “sake garden” patio, indoor booths, banquettes, and a semi-private dining room.

Lucky robot
Lucky Robot’s interiors and diverse menu sets them apart. The Tokyo- inspired space is dimly lit with hanging swings, neon signs, and bold art. The traditional hot dishes, such as ramen and teriyaki, are as good as their sushi, creating options for every eater.

Mushashino
Located upstairs in an office building, Mushashino is truly a hidden gem. Uchi’s Chef, Tyson Cole, trained here and, in my opinion, the food is better than Uchi at a fraction of the price. Their menu is long, with everything from sushi to rice bowls to grilled meat and fish yet somehow they have mastered it all.

Fukumoto
The menu has everything from traditional sushi rolls and sashimi to yakitori skewers to Japanese comfort foods and bento boxes. The restaurant’s energy is high and staff are enthusiastic and helpful. Plus, it is located on East 7th, a new hot spot for bars and live music.

Soto
Soto’s space is modern and the menu is innovative. Depending on what you order, this can be a special-occasion spot or a more-casual dinner. The menu has unique dishes, such as uni pasta, a torched truffle roll, and salmon over a flame.

Uroko
Uroko is a three-in-one restaurant. They serve a Temaki lunch with classic and creative handrolls, as well as other small dishes. On Thursday nights, they host sushi classes and on Monday, Friday, and Saturday nights, they offer omakase dinners. During all services and times, they serve sake slushies and other frozen cocktails.
